Over the last year, we have made many improvements to our program.  The most significant have been the following:

-      Partnership with the Goochland YMCA – this partnership allows players access to our program through the Y’s After-School program, including transportation from school to the YMCA.

-      More Convenient Practice Locations – with the support of Goochland County Parks & Rec and Salem Baptist Church, practice fields and teams were made available at SalemBaptistChurch in Manakin-Sabot, ByrdElementary School, FormerGoochlandMiddle School, and HiddenRockPark.  Our goal is to make participating in soccer as convenient as possible for Goochland families and children.

-     Player Training Clinics – GUSA sponsored team training clinics for all U8 – U14 players this season. The training clinics were delivered by OwnTouch Soccer Training at their indoor facility in Rockville.

The Board is currently preparing for our Spring 2012 season. Some of the key items planned for this spring are the following:

1)       Professional coaching and training support for our Upper Division players and teams.

2)       Additional training opportunities for our U8 players and teams.

3)       Coaching clinics for our U8 – U14 coaches.

4)       GUSA Day at a Richmond Kickers home game.

5)       A new marketing and public relations campaign designed to make more Goochland families aware of the opportunity and joys from playing soccer.

We hope to see you the pitch this spring!
